I went to see 50 First Dates yesterday... and it is an interesting concept. Not so much the movie itself, or what it entailed... but more so the idea of having 50 first dates! How awesome would that be, if you could have 50 first dates with the same person. And have it like you are starting new each time. Learning something new or different. Going out of the norm, staying away from the mundane. In the movie they say that nothing is better than a first kiss... maybe nothing is better than a first date. I think 50 first dates would be ideal.

IF I get married, it will be to someone like that. Someone who can make me feel like every date we go on, is the first one - not just one of many. Perhaps that is too ideallistic for me to think, esspecially for me... but there are some things not worth settling for... and marriage is one of those things.   ¶ 9:21 AM (0) comments

  I HATE feeling like an idiot. Why is it I applied to go back to school again?

I am reading a book right now, and is obviously out of my league, and even when people try to spell it out for me, I still stumble around like an idiot trying to understand. It frustrates me to no end when I don't "get it". I hate being in the dark until the last possible minute.

I just hate that I am not smart enough to figure things out on my own, and yet when someone tries to spell it out for me... I still have no clue.

  These headaches are non-stop. Advil is no longer my friend...it is now taunting me. Laughing at me. GRRRRRR. I have become numb to the pain, or from the pain. I go through the motions... but I guess at least it is because of something other than my skeptic nature.

  When will I be able to have confidence in something other than my pessimism? When will I be able to take comments for what they are worth? Or at least - the good comments. If someone says something negative - I don't think twice about it... but the moment a compliment is issued, I shy away. Why is that? And why is it that everyone seems to feel less about themselves than other do about them. And why is it that I can get upset with people for not being able to take a compliment when I am probably the worst one for that?

  Mmmmmm - naps are good. I think that naps should be mandatory for all schools. No, they should be a must for every job. Don't you think everyone would be that much more producitve if, say right after lunch, you slept for an hour? I would certainly be refreshed enough to get through the afternoon in better spirits.

Of course, naps are only good when you don't dream. Because first off, I often get bad dreams when I nap... and on the rare occasion that I have a good dream - it is always cut short because I was only napping. So in the end I am left wanting. I would therefore rather not dream at all, when I am just resting for a short period of time. I also find that dreaming takes away from sleep. If I am tired enough to sleep - I just want to sleep. I get distracted enough during the day, that I don't need it at night time too. Whether it is a good dream or a bad one, either way - it makes it less restful.

  Why is it that I am so afraid to be happy? Why am I so afraid to let the good things happen? Why must I question it and doubt and be such a cynic? And why do people put up with me!?! I must be the most difficult person to get along with, in the history of the world. I mean, it is like pulling teeth. I make everybody work for anything! And yet, that's the way it is. I will miss out on things, have no doubt already missed out on things, because I don't believe I am worthy of having good in my life. And who knows what will happen with this situation that has presented itself now. I imagine I will fuck this up too. Wouldn't be the first time. How do I answer all the questions, and ignore all of the looks, and justify it in my head or my heart. How do I make room for another? How do I be all about somebody else, when I am barely all about me? I am starting to get my life on track... heading in the right direction...and now this is potential for disaster. How do I keep my heart safe and guarded when there are people who can penetrate the wall I have so carefully built...just by saying hello. How is that humanly possible? How is it that for a select few, there are no boundaries, and for everyone else, masks and facades.

  It's funny to me that people seem to think that if they are lucky in love, then they are lucky in life. Why is that? Seems a bit odd to me. If that is true, then why would people bother with life, if all they have to do is love and be loved? If all they need to be happy, is someone who loves them, why bother going to school, or finding a fulfilling career, or having friends. What is the point of any of that - of putting in that effort, when the answer lies in another? And why is it that we put so much power in another's hands, instead of in our own? Why is our worth determined by the person who loves us, and by how much they love us. How can one person erase all of the troubles of the day? And why is all of this dependent on someone who may just take it all away... and ultimately leave us worse off than when we started?? Seems a bit silly to me.   ¶ 9:25 PM (0) comments

We all take shit. It's a matter of how much we're willing to take before we sever the bond. Most of us use the same guidelines although volumes vary.

For a stranger, we're not putting up with a bunch of crap. For an acquaintance, yeah, okay, a little. For a friend, quite a bit. For a spouse, we put up with as much shit as we can humanly take.

Severing the bond is easy when a stranger or acquaintance pisses me off, but sometimes my friends piss me off. That's irritating. Why the hell won't they listen to me? I know best.

Things that made it a not so good day
1. feeling sick
2. this nagging headache
3. waiting
4. jumping to conclusions

But it is indeed my week off... so alas, it was a good day

  And the fairy tale has ended. I am not much of an "Average Joe" fan, but I watched it off and on, just because I guess I have that little bit of hope in me that one day the average person will win out. BUT, even though I knew she would pick the stud, I still sat there watching, and became disapointed in the result. She chose pretty boy. And while I am not in the least bit surprised... I am sad. Because that is the way of the world. That is how things work. And yet for a second, I allowed myself to hope and believe. Silly me. And this was only tv... not even real life. Why would I then allow myself to believe in something or someone who could ultimately just hurt me and choose something ot someone else. Ain't never gonna happen. I can't let it. This was just one more reminder. Thank god for reality tv.  ¶ 8:10 PM (0) comments
